520 | |a Marie Curie was a Polish and naturalized-French physicist and chemist who conducted pioneering research on radioactivity. Among her many achievements, she was the first woman to win a Nobel Prize and the first woman to become a professor at the University of Paris. This film is a fictional account of the Boudreau sisters, Martine (Nathalie Vansier) (age 11) and Eliane (Colleen Rennison) (age 6), who innocently set out to catch spies during World War I. While families are fleeing war-torn Paris, the girls find that a mysterious woman's finger tapping and access to high security public buildings makes her a prime suspect. It turns out that the mysterious woman is Madame Curie (Kate Trotter), whose two Nobel prizes have brought her international acclaim, but her comings and goings in and out of Paris have brought suspicion on to her behavior. In addition, the girls' actions make them look like accessories to potential crimes. Madame Curie is, in fact, helping to save lives through her research and everything is cleared to be innocent. Martine and Eliane learn that even though it might cause some people to be suspicious, curiosity is essential to discovering the secrets in science and life ...
